Flickr now sells photo prints directly through its website

Flickr is adding a new feature to its website today: the ability to order prints of the photos you’ve posted there, directly from the site.

The new options include metal and canvas art prints, 4 x 6 paper prints to send out to relatives, and photo books (printed in partnership with Blurb and Chatbooks). You’ll only be able to print out your own photos — meaning that you won’t be able to buy prints from another photographer, or use Flickr as an ad-hoc storefront to sell prints of your own work to others.

The option to order prints will be pretty prominent on the site: there’s a new “Prints” tab at the top of every page, and each image will also have a direct link to order a print of it when you’re viewing it online.
