Tezos Launches Global Grant Program to Support Grassroot Developers and Creators

The Tezos ecosystem has launched a global grant program to encourage people to use the platform to develop their projects, ideas, services, and products on the blockchain. The program will enroll through regional Tezos communities around the world. It will reward grantees for their creations in addition to funding projects created through the Tezos platform.

Tezos will avail up to $10,000 in grants to participants in North America. However, the grant covers other regions through Tezos regional initiatives like Tezos Africa, Tezos India, TZ Connect, TZ APAC for the APAC region, Tezos Israel, and Tezos Commons. Applications are ongoing through these regional communities and on the website.

“Grant programs will range in requirements and funding levels depending on geographic considerations. Recipients will retain the opportunity to apply for additional grants. Participating hubs will share more information later this month.”

The program will provide resources and support to developers and creators to initiate developing blockchain applications and tools of all kinds on the Tezos blockchain. It will target beginner developers, students, and experienced developers as well.

“On Tezos, developers can create powerful applications using tools that support a variety of programming languages. Game developers, music labels, NFT artists, sporting franchises, central banks, real estate developers, global NGOs, and more are all building on Tezos. Tezos has a growing Defi ecosystem with ERC-20 bridges for low-gas cross-chain utility, yield farming protocols, and surging AMM platforms.”

According to a press release made available to ZyCrypto, the rate of contract calls on the Tezos blockchain now exceeds 2 million per month, with a sizeable majority coming from developers and creators looking for an inclusive and collaborative community and blockchain opportunities. The self-upgradable and energy-efficient blockchain has also recorded a 1,200 percent growth in network activity this year.

The goal is also to encourage the growth of the network in the grassroots and empower local communities to be authors of community-changing innovations. It will also accelerate usage of the Tezos platform and XTZ, the native token on the blockchain.

The program will also empower developers by providing mentorship, stipends, and access to the global Tezos network and platform.
